Question: The York Peppermint Pattie was created at a York company that was originally set up to make what?

Answer: Ice cream cones. Henry Kessler opened the York Cone Company in 1920. After his peppermint patties hit stores in 1940, they became such a hit in York that he eventually stopped making cones to focus on the candy.
