Masked Gunman Robs North Shore Bank

A gunman wearing a black skull-print mask robbed the Citizens Bank on Isabella Street on Pittsburgh’s North Shore around 9:35 a.m. Friday, a couple of blocks from PNC Park.

Police said he showed a firearm, demanded money, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash toward General Robinson Street.

Officers searched several blocks from PNC Park to the riverfront trail with help from a drone, while the FBI joined the investigation and the city’s Real Time Crime Center tracked the suspect.

No arrest had been announced as of Friday evening, and police haven’t said whether anyone was hurt.

Chicken Truck Rolls Over on I-83

A tractor-trailer hauling chickens rolled over and crashed on I-83 in Dauphin County on Saturday morning, disrupting traffic for about nine hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

Details on what caused the crash, how many birds were on board, and whether the driver was hurt weren’t immediately available.

It’s not the first unusual spill on I-83, as a truck hauling 1,000 pounds of hot dogs flipped in York County last year, sending four people to the hospital.

Drivers can check 511PA for real-time closures before heading out, especially on busy stretches like I-83 between York and Harrisburg.

Wounded Officer Leaves Hospital with Cheers

Philadelphia Police Officer Hector Rodriguez left Penn Presbyterian Medical Center on Saturday as dozens of officers and supporters lined up to honor him, two weeks after he was shot a dozen times in West Philadelphia.

The Oct. 10 shooting killed his partner, Officer Shane Seiber, and the accused gunman faces state and federal charges, including homicide of a law enforcement officer.

Businesses in Manayunk and Roxborough have donated part of their sales to Seiber’s family since the shooting.

Thousands also joined the Philadelphia Police Foundation’s Run for Blue on Market Street last week to support the fallen officer and his family.
