Crowd Beats Man after City Hall Stabbing

A man stabbed two men during a fight outside Philadelphia’s City Hall on Sunday night, then was beaten by a crowd of 10 to 12 people before running off, police say.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, and police haven’t said whether the attacker has been found or identified.

It’s the latest violence near City Hall, where in 2023 SEPTA police shot a man who allegedly stabbed three people at the nearby Walnut-Locust subway station.

Police ask anyone with information to call or text the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS.

Sinkhole Closes Lebanon County Road

A sinkhole will close Route 241, also known as Colebrook Road, for about a week in Lebanon County’s North Cornwall Township between Spangler Road and Rocherty Road starting Monday.

The repair is part of a $3.25 million project along the corridor, so drivers should plan for a detour.

The same stretch underwent a $3.4 million S-curve realignment and got a roundabout at Rocherty Road in 2021.

Sinkholes are common in parts of Pennsylvania with limestone underground, which can dissolve over time and leave voids beneath roads.

Hershey Bets on Protein for GLP-1 Users

Hershey is launching a new protein powder as CEO Kirk Tanner looks to win back snackers taking GLP-1 weight-loss drugs that curb appetite.

Tanner has called functional foods an important growth driver, and the company says consumption of its protein bars rose 17% in a recent quarter.

GLP-1 users have also boosted sales of Hershey’s Ice Breakers mints, which help with nausea and so-called “Ozempic breath,” Tanner told investors.

Hershey already owns ONE protein bars, bought in 2019 for $400 million, and has sold candy-flavored protein powders through a partnership with C4 maker Nutrabolt since 2024.
