Trivia: How many consecutive terms can a Pennsylvania governor serve?
Answer: A Pennsylvania governor can serve two consecutive four-year terms, a limit set by the state’s 1968 constitution. A governor who serves two straight terms must sit out at least four years before running again. Before 1968, governors couldn’t serve back-to-back terms at all, and Milton Shapp became the first to win two in a row in 1974.
