Question: Before Penn State went blue and white, what were its original school colors?
Answer: Dark pink and black. Students voted for them in 1887, but the pink faded to white after a few weeks in the sun, so in 1890 the school switched to navy blue and white. Fans still honor the original colors with a pink and black “S-Zone” in the student section at Homecoming.
