Fetterman Breaks with Party on Iran War Vote

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote against a War Powers resolution that would have directed President Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from Iran.

The measure failed 49-50, with Republicans Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, and Thom Tillis crossing over to support it.

Fetterman has opposed such resolutions since the conflict began, saying he believes military action is the only way to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Fellow Pennsylvania Democrats blasted the vote, with Rep. Chris Deluzio saying it would “keep the Iran War raging.” The vote marks the latest in a series of high-profile breaks between Fetterman and his party.

Two Bald Eagles Rescued After Tangling in Midair

Two bald eagles were rescued in Lancaster County after being found entangled together, covered in blood, in an open soybean field.

The Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, with help from a Pennsylvania game warden, freed and transported the male and female birds, both in poor condition.

Rescuers said the injuries likely came from a territorial dispute or courtship, when eagles lock talons and can’t let go before hitting the ground.

The birds are now being treated for wounds and lead poisoning at the center’s clinic. Staff say they hope to heal the pair and release them back to their territory before other eagles move in.
