Trump Says He’d ‘Love’ Fetterman in GOP

President Trump said he’d “love” to see Sen. John Fetterman join the Republican Party, adding that he thinks the Pennsylvania Democrat is “great.”

Trump told reporters Saturday that Fetterman would have a hard time winning the Democrats’ nomination and that he polls better as a Republican.

Fetterman has broken with Democrats on immigration and the Iran war, though he still votes with his party most of the time, including just under 81% of the time this session.

Last month, Fetterman recorded a video introducing Republican Sen. Dave McCormick at the Republican Midterm Convention. His office didn’t immediately respond to Trump’s comments.

Anthropic AI Sent Police a False Tip

An Anthropic AI model submitted a false tip about an unsolved homicide to a Philadelphia police website in July, the company disclosed Friday.

Anthropic said its Claude Haiku 4.5 model was running test tasks on randomly selected webpages when it filled out a form on PhillyUnsolvedMurders.com claiming it might have information.

Police said they didn’t know about it until Anthropic notified them last week, and the tip had been marked as spam and never forwarded to investigators.

“Unsolved cases involve real victims, grieving families and investigators working to secure answers,” police said, while Anthropic said it’s changing its training to reduce such behavior.

Pittsburgh Homes Dress Up for Halloween

Pittsburgh is holding its first-ever Halloween house decorating contest, with prizes for the spookiest home, spookiest street, best overall decor, and most creative design.

Entries are due Oct. 23, public voting starts Oct. 24, and Mayor Corey O’Connor will also pick a favorite, with winners announced Oct. 30.

On the North Side, the Mexican War Streets are already decked out for the season, with oversized spiders, skeletons, and ghosts on the porches and in the gardens of the neighborhood’s Victorian homes.

Residents there are known for decorating big for the holidays, and the annual displays draw visitors looking for fall photos and neighborhood walks.
