SEPTA Standoff Ends With Suspect Dead

An armed man who barricaded himself on a SEPTA bus in Fox Chase for nearly 12 hours yesterday died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said, ending the standoff just after 5 p.m.

The man allegedly told the driver he had just killed two people, and police believe he is connected to the deaths of two women found shot in the head inside a burning East Mount Airy home hours earlier.

Family members told local news that the man is accused of killing his adoptive mother and his sister, who was also adopted.

The driver and another passenger got off safely. No officers were hurt, and police haven’t officially identified the man.

State Reports Sixth Measles-Related Death

A Franklin County woman’s death has been ruled as Pennsylvania’s sixth measles-associated death this year.

The state’s outbreak topped 1,000 cases last week, making it the largest outbreak in a single U.S. state in more than three decades.

Earlier deaths included two infants in Lancaster County and a 40-year-old woman in Jefferson County.

State officials and the federal government have clashed over how to count the deaths, and the CDC’s official tally lists far fewer.

Vietnam Vets Finally Welcomed Home

Two organizations held a homecoming event at Penn College in Williamsport for local Vietnam War veterans who never got a warm welcome when they returned from the war.

Many Vietnam veterans came home to hostility or indifference instead of parades, and events like this aim to offer the thanks they never received.

Nearly 9 million Americans served during the Vietnam era, and the national Vietnam War Commemoration has held more than 24,000 ceremonies to thank veterans and their families.

For many of the veterans, now in their 70s and 80s, the welcome came more than 50 years after they returned home.

How to Survive 16 Days Underwater

In March, an underwater drone traveled 1,257 miles over 16 days without ever coming up, roughly the distance from Los Angeles to Dallas.

That kind of uninterrupted range underwater used to require a nuclear reactor. But this world-first performance was powered by Infinity’s hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Why’s this a big deal? Unlike batteries that must get bigger to run longer, Infinity’s fuel cells deliver massive performance in small packages. This enables drones to operate without surfacing or recharging, a key strategic advantage for customers like the U.S. Navy.

The Navy isn’t the only one betting on Infinity, either. This tech has also logged 2,600+ hours for NASA. In total, Infinity’s won $60M+ in past and current contracts.

Now they’re scaling production to meet demand and inviting investors to share in their potential. And if you invest by Thursday, you’ll earn 5% in guaranteed bonus stock. Maximize your early-stage Infinity stake before the deadline.
